FMRC Board Meeting Minutes

February 15, 2017

7:30PM

Board Member Attendees: Christy James, Monica Shaw, Marty Breen, Larry Feigenbaum and Committee Leads Mandie Rewcastle , Julie Pfeifle, and Danilo Purlia.

Absent: Joseph Condon

Minutes from the January 2017 meeting were unanimously approved.

Monica Shaw reported that there was $9,000 in the bank at the end of January.

Larry Feigenbaum reported that additional sponsor checks of $1,500 were deposited in the bank in early February.

Christy James reported that there are currently 199 active members, after the non-renewal of 30 members in the past 30 days. The lack of any membership committee volunteers has hampered the desired follow-up with former members.

Julie Pfeifle (Triathlon) reported on the potential coaching alternatives, to be offered to the membership, at a cost for each member, for the upcoming Santa Rosa 70.3. Endurance Nation, a virtual/web based coaching network with 800 members, would be $99 per month per member. Rob Reinhard, Tri-Active Endurance, has a studio in Concord and offers individualize triathlon training. The Board decided that Julie should further discuss pricing with Rob, as his local presence would be the best alternative for interested club members. Julie will also poll the club to determine club interest.

Danilo Purlia (Running) presented a desire to have an age graded inter-club competition. One Challenge Series race per month would be identified as a key race. The top five people in each age group would be have age graded results calculated and their times entered in a data base, to be administered by Danilo. Interested members would be required to enter their raw race results in the Challenge Series data base no later than 7 days following the race. The Board agreed to go forward with the program as a beta test for 2017.
