Lake Del Valle Route:

  • L on Hartz
  • R on Laurel
  • R on Brookside
  • L on Sycamore Valley Road (eventually becomes Camino Tassajara)
  • L on Highland
  • L on Manning (REGROUP #1 at Intersection)
  • Manning eventually bears R and becomes N. Livermore Ave
  • R into Chevron Gas Station just past I-580 (REGROUP #2)
  • R back onto N. Livermore Ave
  • Continue straight through Downtown Livermore
  • N. Livermore Ave. becomes S. Livermore Ave
  • S. Livermore Ave becomes Tesla Rd
  • R on Mines Rd
  • Mines becomes Del Valle Rd (steep climb begins)
  • Descend the hill to the Ranger Booth at Lake Del Valle
  • R at the Ranger Booth
  • Flip at the Parking Lot (REGROUP #3)
  • L at the Ranger Booth to exit (steep climb begins)
  • Del Valle Rd becomes Mines Rd
  • L on Tesla (eventually will bear right, becoming South Livermore Ave)
  • L Concannon
  • L on Wente St
  • Road bears right to become Marina Ave
  • L on Arroyo Rd
  • R on Wetmore Rd (pass Sycamore Park on your left)
  • L on Vallecitos Rd (CAUTION – HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC)
  • R on E. Vineyard Ave
  • L into Chevron Gas Station (REGROUP #4)
  • L back onto E. Vineyard Ave
  • L on Bernal Ave
  • R on Vineyard Ave
  • L on First St (Downtown Pleasanton on your right)
  • First St becomes Sunol Blvd
  • R on Castlewood Dr (just past I-680)
  • R on Foothill Rd
  • Foothill Rd becomes San Ramon Rd at I-580 (continue straight)
  • San Ramon Rd becomes San Ramon Valley Blvd at Alcosta (continue straight)
  • L on Railroad Ave to the Railroad Depot

Sunol/Calaveras

  • South on Danville Blvd / San Ramon Valley Blvd.
  • SRV becomes Foothill after crossing the 580 freeway.
  • Stay on Foothill all the way to Sunol
  • Regroup and water stop at the general store / port-a-potties
  • Continue on Main St., then left on Niles Canyon Road (watch carefully for oncoming traffic)
  • R at the next intersection (Paloma Way, which becomes Calaveras Rd)
  • Stay on Calaveras, and proceed up the short climb after Geary Rd. (climb is ~10-15 minutes).
  • Turn around at the top, and be very careful on the descent. There are several off-camber turns, which should be taken slower than normal corners.
  • Return via Calaveras/Paloma, then bear right on Pleasanton Sunol Rd.
  • Left on Castlewood Dr. (watch for oncoming traffic)
  • Right on Foothill, then back to the start.

Palomares

  • South on Danville Blvd / San Ramon Valley Blvd.
  • SRV becomes Foothill after crossing over the 580 freeway.
  • Stay on Foothill all the way to the general store in Sunol (left on Kilkare, across the railroad tracks, then a quick left on Main St.).
  • Regroup and water stop at the general store.
  • R on 84/Niles Canyon
  • R on Palomares Rd.
  • Go up and over the climb
  • Regroup at the end of the descent and subsequent flats, at the intersection of Palomeras and Paloverde (first stop sign)
  • R on Paloverde
  • R on Dublin Canyon Rd.
  • L on Foothill, then back to the start.

Carquinez Bridge via Cummings Skyway

  • North on Danville Blvd
  • Just after Rudgear Rd, turn left on Castle Hill
  • Right on Lancaster
  • Left on Lilac
  • Left on Newell
  • Left on Olympic
  • Right on Pleasant Hill Rd.
  • During the first big descent, make sure to stay to the right. (do NOT bear left onto Taylor)
  • At the bottom of the descent, at the first stop light (I think), you need to turn L to stay on PHR. Do NOT go straight onto Geary.
  • PHR eventually becomes Alhambra Ave.
  • Just before reaching Martinez/Hwy 4, turn left on Franklin Canyon Rd.
  • Right on Cummings Skyway
  • Go over Hwy 80. You’ll see the refineries on the left.
  • Right on San Pablo Ave., and up and down the hill
  • Watch for the bike path entrance on the left, which will take you on the Carquinez Bridge
  • Ride over the bridge, continue to the end of the bike bath
  • At end of path, turn R
  • At the stop light, cross Hwy 29 / Sonoma Blvd, and regroup at the Chevron Station
  • Return via the same route, except that we will bear off of PHR at Taylor, then stay on Taylor until it rejoins PHR.
  • L on Olympic
  • R on Tice Valley
  • R on Crest Ave
  • Stay on Crest until it forces you left onto Hillgrade
  • R on Danville Blvd

Redwood – From the North (counter-clockwise loop)

  • North on Danville Blvd
  • Just after Rudgear Rd, turn left on Castle Hill
  • R on Lancaster
  • L on Lilac
  • L on Newell
  • L on Olympic
  • R on Beechwood
  • R on Hawthorne
  • L on Moraga Blvd
  • L on Moraga Rd.
  • L on St. Mary’s Rd (we’ll be on St. Mary’s for awhile)
  • L on Moraga Rd.
  • Moraga Rd. becomes Canyon Rd.
  • L on Pinehurst
  • L on Redwood Rd.
  • Regroup at the public golf course at the bottom of the descent on Redwood (it’s on the right).
  • L on Castro Valley Blvd (eventually becomes E Castro Valley)
  • Once we’re out of town, E Castro Valley will eventually go under the 580 fwy.
  • Continue straight onto Dublin Canyon Rd. (aka the Dublin Grade)
  • L on Foothill
  • Follow Foothill/San Ramon Valley back to the store
