This was my first time running this race. Last year I was coming off an injury and paced my daughter Madison on my bike. The course is a two loops of the 5k for the 10k. it was a fairly flat course around downtown Walnut Creek. As I was finishing the first lap of the race, most runners were turning for the finish line which put me into 3rd overall. I was able to hold my position into the finish line. As they were announcing the top 15 men and women for each race, I was not on the list for the 10k. I went to the timing company to find out where my results were and he explained to me that someone complained that someone my age cannot run that fast so they put me time as a 5k time. I was able to get my results put back into the 10k. That was the first time running fast got me taken out of the results.
This is a great race and lok forward to running this next year. Thanks to the Race Director FMRC’s Eric Miller
